I'm A Celebrity have evicted their third contestant - as Fred Sirieix was sent home from the jungle.

The maitre'd became the third person to leave the camp following Nella Rose's controversial exit yesterday evening and Frankie Dettori's short stay in the jungle, when he was the first star to be evicted from the show. Two other stars had already left prior to this owing to medical grounds, with both Jamie Lynn Spears and Grace Dent being sent home.

Tonight, one more star became the third campmate to leave the show after a tough 24 hours for the remaining campmates, which saw Fred Sirieix and Marvin Humes struggle in their fly on the wall inspired trial.

The 51-year-old TV star won many new fans for going head-to-head with Nigel Farage on Europe and immigration early in the series. But his outspoken style also upset some people in camp and viewers as more recently he was highly critical of Josie Gibson's cooking saying it was "like a horror movie" and also moaning about other people's washing up.

After being told he was leaving by hosts Ant and Dec, Fred said: "See you guys, take care" and hugged his campmates.

Speaking to Ant and Dec after leaving camp, Fred said: "My time in the jungle has been an amazing experience, I got to meet some wonderful people. It is like another life and here I am. I was living in the moment and not thinking about what was happening next. I found it quite easy because I really prepared myself."

Fred was also critical of Josie's cooking in camp. Defending his actions, he said: "She's just making it up as she goes along. So I think there's a lot at stake with the food. And it's not just what you're cooking at the moment which of course is going to be good, because the produce is incredible, it is what you can do the next day with the leftovers of the bones."

On clashing with Nigel Farage over Europe and immigration, he said: "It was great in camp because Nigel is a doer, we can work together, we can go and collect wood and water. But yeah, there is a side of Nigel Farage that I cannot connect with and I will never connect with him. He hasn't brought me around to his way of thinking, no."

Fred ended his jungle experience on a high, taking on two bush tucker trials in Fly On The Wall with Marvin Humes and Celebrity Distressing Rooms trial on his own on Monday winning seven out of nine stars. But arguably his most memorable moments came in the opening week. On the second show and just hours into being in camp he told Farage how he felt.

Fred asked Nigel: “What’s the benefit of Brexit then? If you are an average person from Britain, what’s the benefit?” Nigel said: “To know that we’re independent, we stand on our own two feet in the world.”

Fred then replied: “Brexit was about immigration, I remember your poster. I thought it was shameful what you did Nigel. Shameful," with Nigel adding: "Sadly, sadly it was absolutely true. It was a poster showing mass young men moving illegally across borders.”

In show three he clashed with Nella Rose who told him: "I accept your apology but let’s not be friends." Fred had said he "could be her dad" because of his age, but it angered Nella because they had discussed how her father had recently died.

She said to him: "You hurt my feelings. I was very upset… you keep trying to speak to me when I don’t want to speak to you." Fred responded: "I’m really sorry you feel like this. If I made a faux pas, unwillingly, unconsciously, I am very sorry. But this was all it was. That’s all it was. If you want to take it to the nth degree and not speak to me anymore, it’s your choice."

I'm A Celebrity have evicted their third contestant this evening ahead of the big final later this week that will see one star named King or Queen of the Jungle

Last night, Nella became the second evictee and in her exit interview, she doubled down on her feuds with Fred and Nigel Farage. Insisting she stands by her rows with the pair, she told hosts Ant and Dec: "Oh my god, you used everything. I am not usually put in situations where people don't have opinions in the same walk of life. So when they have different mindsets, and I hear them, I'm shocked because I'm not used to hearing people think like this. So automatically, you have to say something about it because what they've said to me it's kind of shocking sometimes. But it is what it is."

Nella explained she had done the show to face her biggest fears, adding: "To face my fears, which I did crying and running away from them some of the time! It was way scarier than I thought. I thought chucking me in there with a bunch of spiders would be fine but it wasn't," before admitting she wanted Sam Thompson to win the show.

She also confessed to "pure pettiness" - by giving away Fred's role as camp chef to someone else.

"That was pure pettiness, I am not even going to lie. Being in that jungle 24/7 when you see the drama aspects of it, It's like your evening news that is your entertainment. So I'm thinking shall we have a peaceful camp or shall we have some drama."

On what she has learned about herself, Nella added: "I learned my cravings are not that deep, like I need chocolate, they can be suppressed. I learned I could live with other people and that my fears are bigger in my head."
